LOVE PEOPLE.

Serve Locally

Make A Difference In Our Community

At House of Prayer, we believe in being the hands and feet of Jesus - right here in our own community. Through local outreach, food distribution, and compassionate support, we’re committed to meeting real needs and showing the love of Christ to our neighbors in Union County. Whether it’s a warm meal, a helping hand, or a listening ear, our heart is to serve others and share hope in tangible ways.

How You Can Serve Locally

The Hope Center

The Hope Center

At House of Prayer, we are committed to loving people well. One vital way we seek to do that locally is through our Hope Center, located across the road from HOP Church at 1405 Pat Colwell Road. Our Food and Clothing Ministries are both housed at the Hope Center where we give out an average of 240,000 pounds of food annually.

The Cottage Food Bank

The Cottage Food Bank

The Cottage Food Bank is open Mondays and Wednesdays from 9:00 a.m. to Noon at the HOPE Center. Union County residents are welcome to visit once a month to receive groceries with a valid ID and proof of residence.

Fresh produce is also available Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 10:00–11:00 a.m. Families may come once per week for fruits and vegetables, also with ID and proof of residence.

Elijah's Closet

Elijah's Closet

Elijah’s Closet, also located at the Hope Center, provides clothing on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 9:00 a.m. to Noon. Families are invited to come once a month to select from clothing, shoes, accessories, linens, Bibles, and books. Clothing, linen, and toiletry donations are accepted in the bin located outside the Hope Center on the side of the building.

Soup Kitchen

Soup Kitchen

If you have a heart for loving on people who are often marginalized and lonely, this is a perfect spot for you to serve. Wednesday mornings, you’ll find Ava and her team slicing, dicing, and cooking up a scrumptious meal for take-out and dining in. This meal is entirely free to people in our community who may need encouragement, help with food, or just a friendly mid-week hug. You can serve by sitting with those who dine in and praying for them as the opportunity arises or by working alongside Ava in the kitchen.
